Our history

Founded in 2001, Certis Europe was created from three businesses acquired by Mitsui & Co. Ltd during the 1990’s operating in the UK, France and Netherlands. It has since grown to become a European crop protection specialist providing sales and marketing services to its suppliers alongside development and regulatory support. Key milestones in the evolution of the business are illustrated in the diagram below:

  • Global licence acquired from Janssen for Imazalil for post-harvest uses. Acquisition of the Luxan business including EU registration of CIPC and metaldehyde

  • Kumiai enters as shareholder

  • Certis becomes a 100% Japanese owned company. Chemtura withdraw from Certis capital.

  • KNE Certis is launched in South Eastern Europe and Balkan states.

  • Spiess-Urania and Certis merger.
